CHIO Aachen
Show jumping's spiritual home. In 2026 it hosted a Rolex Major in May and the World Championships in August.
Why it is here
Richard Vogel won the CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen on 24 May 2026 with United Touch S, in front of what World of Showjumping describes as a 'fully packed Soers crowd'. Vogel called Aachen 'my absolute favourite show in this world', crediting its spectators (World of Showjumping, 2026-05-24). A Rolex Grand Slam report published by the same title says the field included 21 of the world's top 25 riders (2026-05-25). In August the venue staged the FEI World Championships: Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale retained the world dressage title in the Grand Prix Special with 82.295% (Eurodressage, 2026-08-14; Dressage-News, 2026-08-14). Full CHIO Aachen returns from 25 June to 4 July 2027 (CHIO Aachen, 2026-09-03). Score drivers: sporting level 9.8 from a Major field with 21 of the top 25 riders plus a World Championship venue; prestige 9.7 from its status as a Rolex Grand Slam Major; experience 9.2 and social 9.0 from the packed stadium and the riders' own accounts of the crowd. Exclusivity is not scored.
Who it is for
Show-jumping and dressage enthusiasts who want the sport's best-loved stadium and a Rolex Grand Slam Major.
