Equestrian Events Polo
Rank 11
Argentine Open (Abierto Argentino de Polo)
The highest level of polo in the world, played at the 'Cathedral of Polo', with an all-10-goal defending champion.
Why it is here
La Natividad La Dolfina beat Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú 17–13 in the 132nd Argentine Open final on 7 December 2025 and completed the Triple Crown. That made Adolfo Cambiaso the only player to win the Triple Crown five times, and President Javier Milei watched from packed grandstands (Polo Times, 2025-12-08). Polo.Net.AR describes the 'Cathedral of Polo' and its packed grandstand on final day (2025-12-08). The 133rd edition runs 10 November – 12 December 2026, with the final on Saturday 12 December. Prensa Polo lists the defending champions' line-up as four 10-goal players, a 40-goal team (Prensa Polo, 2026-09-25; Asociación Argentina de Polo, 2026-04-21). Score drivers: sporting level 9.6 and prestige 9.6 from the 40-goal level of play and the Triple Crown history; social 9.0 from the packed stands and the presence of the head of state. Exclusivity and experience are not scored.
