Why it is here
Octane reported a record 238,000 spectators at the 2025 edition, with more than 800 cars across six grids over 24 hours and 9,200 club cars (2025-07-08). Motor Sport carried Alex Brundle's first-hand account of racing a GT40 there (2025-08-04). The inaugural Le Mans Classic Legend (2–5 July 2026) drew 'almost 160,000' and 350 race cars; Octane notes Goodwood 'still edge[s] the Sarthe for overall polish' (2026-07-07). Score drivers: prestige 8.8; provenance 8.8 from grids running from pre-war Alfa Romeo 8Cs to Group C; expertise 8.4; community 9.4 from record club participation; experience 8.8, marked down for crowds and traffic and the 2026 attendance drop.
Who it is for
Collectors and drivers of Le Mans-eligible cars, and enthusiasts who want 24-hour historic racing on the actual Le Mans circuit.
