Why it is here
This is the original 1993 Singita lodge, not a portfolio average. Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List 2025 and its dedicated Sabi Sand review still treat Ebony as the reference riverine camp: 12 suites, private concession traversing, and a service culture built around ranger-and-tracker pairs rather than spa menus. Wallpaper* (23 Jun 2024) documented the Cécile & Boyd refresh completed May 2024 — timber, photography, and a lighter bush-luxe that replaced the 1990s dark lodge without turning it into a Johannesburg showroom. Ranked above other Kruger-adjacent names because the editorial stack names this lodge, not ‘Singita’ as a brand.
Who it is for
UHNW safari regulars who want Sabi Sand leopard density and Singita service without sharing a 20-suite camp or a public Kruger road.
