Prenuvo Whole Body Scan

The most independently covered whole-body MRI product in the world, and the one the 2026 JAMA viewpoint was written to warn against.

Why it is here

The New York Times (19 Sep 2023) covered Prenuvo’s $2,499 celebrity-endorsed whole-body MRI and quoted experts warning it may not be the right approach. Associated Press’s Matthew Perrone reported ACR’s position that there is no evidence screening is cost-efficient or prolongs life, that incidental findings drive extra tests, and that Prenuvo’s 100,000-person study is not due until about 2034; AP also noted FDA has not approved MRI machines for preventive screening. Davenport and Reeder in JAMA (6 May 2026) wrote that no guideline recommends elective MRI screening of the general public, about 30% of scans create uncertain findings, cancer is found in 1–2%, and no studies show longer or better life. The pricing page fetched 3 Sep 2026 lists standalone whole-body at $2,499 USD.

Who it is for

People buying a standardized whole-body MRI SKU who have read the incidentaloma literature, not patients looking for a treating longevity clinic.
