Why it is here
The Art Newspaper (Aug 2024) states Maeght’s site-specific outdoor works by Miró, Braque, Giacometti and Chagall ‘still stand as a blueprint for displays of Modern sculpture,’ marking Europe’s longest-standing independent foundation (1964). Le Monde and The Independent’s 60th-anniversary coverage corroborate the artist-made garden (Miró labyrinth, Giacometti insistence on trees for vertical sculptures, Calder at entrance) and the 2024 subterranean expansion.
Who it is for
Classic Modern patrons and those studying how dealer-collectors embed living artists into architecture and garden as a total work.
