Arqana August Yearling Sale
France's flagship yearling sale, which set records for turnover and price in 2026 in the Deauville summer season.
Why it is here
The 2026 sale (15–17 August) turned over a record €66.4 million, up 10%. From a catalogue of 325, 295 yearlings went through the ring and 80% changed hands, at a record average of €277,682 (Les Echos, 2026-08-18). A Wootton Bassett colt from Ecurie des Monceaux sold to Coolmore's MV Magnier for €4.6 million, smashing the French yearling record (Thoroughbred Daily News, 2026-08-17). A second TDN analysis counts 10 seven-figure yearlings, up from eight in 2025 (2026-08-17). Arqana has set the 2027 August sale for 14–16 August (Paris-Turf, 2026-10-14). Score drivers: prestige 9.0 from the record top price and turnover; exclusivity 9.0 from a select catalogue of 325. Sporting level, social and experience are not scored. Not investment advice. This entry ranks the sale as an event and a market venue; it is not a recommendation to buy a horse or to treat bloodstock as an investment. Past sale prices do not predict future values.
